FootGolf Grand Slam Inaugural Edition
We are excited to announce the launch of the FootGolf Grand Slam, the ultimate achievement in the sport! This prestigious distinction is awarded to players who successfully win all four AFGL Major tournaments in consecutive fashion, showcasing unparalleled skill, dedication, and perseverance.
The AFGL Major Tournaments
Coast to Coast: The four AFGL major tournaments are the most important FootGolf events in the United States. These annual competitions are renowned within the AFGL Tour, attracting national and international players. Each AFGL major tournament offers a unique and challenging experience for participants, featuring diverse terrains and course layouts that test players' skills and strategies.
• Desert Storm, the first major event of the U.S. season 2024-2025 sets the tone for a new FootGolf season in Palm Springs' most wonderful time of the year.
Mid-November marks the beginning of the high season of golf in Palm Springs, and the California Desert provides a stunning backdrop for this tournament. Players will navigate through fresh green fairways, sandy dunes, and tricky winds on two separate courses, demanding precision and adaptability to succeed. Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort, with its stunning mountain backdrop and lush greenery, offers a serene setting for players to test their skills against the elements.
The Lights at Indio Golf Course, on the other hand, presents a more dynamic challenge with its fast-paced layout and evening play under the starlit sky. With the holiday spirit in the air and the anticipation of a fun competition ahead, the FootGolf Desert Storm 2024 promises to be an exciting experience this season. Typically, we play these courses in the summer; however, get ready to experience the California Desert like never before – with snow-capped mountains, nice weather, and a festive atmosphere a month and a half before the holidays.
• The Las Vegas Open is a highly anticipated event on the FootGolf calendar, drawing players from around the world to compete on the prestigious AFGL course in Nevada: Chimera Golf Club, formerly known as Tuscany Golf Club. The course is owned by Thomas Burke, who partnered with the American FootGolf League to introduce FootGolf to both locals and visitors almost ten years ago. Located just twenty minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Chimera Golf Club is often recommended by casinos as their go-to destination for guests. The name "Chimera" originates from Greek mythology, referring to a fire-breathing monster with the body and head of a lion, a goat's head on its back, and a serpent for a tail.
The FootGolf layout and setting are equally impressive, featuring meticulously maintained lush green fairways, lightning-fast greens, and the vibrant backdrop of Las Vegas. We have recently learned that a new clubhouse and upscale restaurant are currently under construction.
While the nearby strip's allure is undeniable, the focus remains on the sport, as participants face off in a high-stakes competition. Following the Pacific Trophy III, which features international teams from Japan, Chile, Canada, Honduras, Mexico, and the United States (January 29th-31st), the Las Vegas Open promises to be an intense showdown at the Chimera Golf Club. North American players are already eager to compete against fellow footgolfers from other countries, set against the stunning Nevada landscape. With high expectations and intense competition, this tournament promises to deliver really good moments for everyone involved.
The Nationals is an annual event that garners excitement and enthusiasm from FootGolf enthusiasts across the country. This prestigious tournament is known for providing a traditional FootGolf experience unlike any other. Held at the renowned Watson golf course within the amazing Reunion Resort & Golf Club in Kissimmee, Florida, participants are treated to a challenging and meticulously designed course in individual categories only. The Watson course layout at The Nationals will be strategically crafted to push players to their limits, requiring a delicate balance of power and finesse. Competitors must navigate through a series of obstacles, undulating terrain, and strategically placed hazards that demand precision and strategic thinking, including numerous waste areas and over one hundred sand traps. Each hole will present a unique challenge, forcing competitors to adapt and showcase their skills.
As players make their way through the course, they are met with breathtaking views and a sense of camaraderie that is unique to the FootGolf community. The Nationals at Reunion Resort & Golf Club is not just a competition; it is a celebration of the sport of FootGolf and a testament to the dedication and skill of its participants. The Stay-and-Play concept is a gathering of like-minded individuals who share a passion for the game and a desire to push themselves to new heights. All players will have access to Reunion's famous Waterpark and seven pools, as well as three restaurants. This tournament will be a true test of endurance, sportsmanship, and skill, making it a must-attend event for any FootGolf enthusiast looking to experience the best that the sport has to offer.

Governance and Rules
The American FootGolf League plays a crucial role in the organization and execution of FootGolf tournaments across the country. By overseeing these events, the league ensures that all competitions are conducted with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. One of the key aspects that the league focuses on is ensuring strict adherence to the FIFG Rulebook, which serves as the guiding framework for all FootGolf matches. This rulebook outlines the regulations and guidelines that govern the game, covering everything from player conduct to scoring rules, to ensure fair play and consistency across all tournaments. In addition to upholding the rules of the game, the American FootGolf League also enforces a strict dress code for all participants. This dress code not only adds a sense of uniformity and professionalism to the tournaments but also ensures that players are appropriately attired for the sport. By requiring players to adhere to specific clothing guidelines, such as wearing collared shirts and golf style shorts, the league helps create a cohesive and standardized look for all competitors. Through its meticulous oversight of tournaments and commitment to upholding the FIFG Rulebook and dress code, the American FootGolf League plays a vital role in promoting the growth and development of FootGolf in the United States. By setting and maintaining high standards for competition, the league helps elevate the sport and create a competitive environment that is both challenging and rewarding for players of all levels.
Ranking Points and Tours
Ranking points from the tour do not directly contribute to winning the Grand Slam title. However, players can accumulate tour points by participating in all four AFGL Tour Majors, which can improve their overall ranking. The AFGL Tour, North American Tour, and FIFG World Tour are the stages that offer substantial points for the respective rankings of each tour.

Winning the Grand Slam Trophy is a remarkable achievement that comes with immense prestige and recognition. Players who accomplish this feat join an elite group of athletes who have demonstrated exceptional talent, hard work, and determination. They not only etch their names in the records of FootGolf history, but also solidify their legacies as legends of the game.
